Detailed Junior Programs information, including dates, schedules and costs, is listed below.
Non Program Lessons
For those parents not interested in one of the development programs below, but rather in standard lessons, please visit our Rates and Policies page for more details.
Our QuickStart tennis lessons are based on the idea of introducing children to tennis in a graduated length format. We begin the children with smaller racquets and balls that are less compressed and allow them to progress and set the pace of their development. Our ultimate goal is to have the children progress to the point they can enter our regular junior development programs.
Our six week programs are designed for children 10 and under who want to learn the game of tennis and might not be ready to commit to the regular regime of a junior developmental program.
Our QuickStart program is set up in two levels. QuickStart Blue is for pure beginners and meets on either Monday or Wednesday. QuickStart White is for the intermediate level children and they meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
At Tennis Dynamics, we know little kids like big fun. This junior development program is designed to introduce young tennis players to the fundamentals basic to tennis. Our Pee Wee Tennis programs are designed to introduce children to the game of tennis in a fun and rewarding way.
Children develop self-confidence through a careful progression of tennis games and basic drills designed to teach the basics and foster a love for the sport. With great organization and planning, children spend their time on the court with new friends running, learning, and laughing. The rackets and nets we use are small and make learning easy. Encouragement and gentle instruction create a positive and fun atmosphere. In addition, youngsters will learn tennis etiquette, score keeping, and the rules of the game.
The Junior Development Level 1 is designed for beginning young juniors who want more than a regular “clinic program” offers.
If players want to make the commitment to getting better and developing the proper fundamentals, then this is the right program. With time and effort, players will improve their games. Players will work on the basics of the groundstrokes, volleys, serve and overhead.
The classes are split in about half with regard to drills and working on the fundamentals and play situations. On Thursdays we will spend a portion of the time playing matches and competitive games that will help children to understand better how to employ strategies and tactics. Some doubles play is included at various times throughout the semester.
Junior Development Plus

Often time commitments to school or other obligations only allow for a once a week class such as this.
The program will emphasize proper fundamentals with the groundstrokes, serve, volleys and footwork. At various points throughout the fall and spring semesters we will teach some doubles strategy and positioning. We will emphasize specific social skills focusing on we teach good sportsmanship, honesty, self-control, and the ability to handle disappointments, all of which prepare our students for their future lives.
Junior Development 2 is designed for the beginning to intermediate tennis players who have completed some basic skills development - regardless of their athletic ability or experience. This program is set up to teach the young players the skills needed to continue to have fun and be successful on the tennis court. These players may be thinking about playing tournaments or have just begun playing tournaments. They also may have some ALTA or USTA league experience.

The Junior Development Excel is by invitation only and is intended for the dedicated tournament tennis player. The integrity of the Tennis Dynamics program is important to us. The juniors who come to our program are an integral part of the process. The members of the Excel program become family and our traditions and accomplishments are our history. In such an environment a proper attitude toward competition and practice is almost automatically achieved.
It is important to realize on the court you need to be able to trust the players around you. The character of the players becomes apparent as stress and difficulty of the drills increase. In order to attain a state, sectional or national ranking a youngster must be committed. Certain kids possess this desire and add to the competitive environment. Players are required to make the commitment of time and effort to be the best they can be.
In our Excel program we believe the youngster's minds should also be consciously stressed, allowed to recover and compensate. Play strategies are emphasized in structured games and during match-play.
We find talented tennis players to be fairly common in this area of the country. Young tennis players who can who combine the focus, concentration and physical talents are less prevalent. These are the players we wish to help and develop in the Excel program.
To prevent stagnation of our junior player's games, we vary the drills and challenges. We apply pressure and make the drills more difficult where we can. We present new movements and combinations to our drills to keep the player guessing. Tournaments can be scheduled to provide coaching and match analysis. The program provides a total learning environment where the private lessons provide individual attention and the drill sessions reinforce the skills learned in the private lessons. Careful emphasis on a strong foundation allows players to reach higher points with their games over time.
We believe in attention to detail. For us little things matter so we will go back and repeat things over and again until we are able to get them right. We train with the same commitment we take into competition - if you are not willing to give it everything you have, to go until there is nothing left to give, then this is probably not the best group suited for you. The only outcome of value is that which is realized by utterly committing all of one's resources to the task at hand.
The Summer Development Drills are an extension of our Fall and Spring semester drill sessions. These drills are open to any current members of the Junior Development groups or Excel group who are serious about competing in junior tournament play. It is also open to any pre-approved new candidates.
During this drill period the pace is kept at an intense level. Fitness and conditioning are integrated into the drills. These sessions are staffed rain or shine. If there is inclement weather we will spend it working on various match play concepts and mental preparation.
It is expected that players will be playing a summer tournament schedule.
